Window Tinting & Glass Frosting
Window tinting is one of the most cost effective ways to upgrade a home or office building while lowering energy costs at the same time. The tinting film will reduce cooling and heating costs by diminishing the amount of heat that transfers through glass. Window film can be installed on the glass surfaces of private homes, office buildings, boats and cars for protection from ultraviolet rays as well as for looks. The film is usually made from an ultra-thin polyester base, and good quality film will retain its shape for years.
How it Works:
When sunlight hits a glass window it either transmits through the glass, is reflected away from the glass, or is absorbed by the glass. Window tinting greatly reduces the amount of visible light that is transmitted through the glass, which reduces glare and increases privacy. It also reduces the absorption rate.
The main uses are:
• Heat and glare reduction
• Thermal insulation
• Safety and security
• UV filtration
• Privacy
• Protection from Graffiti
• Decoration, branding and signage
Window tinting blocks UV radiation and this will protect upholstery, carpets and draperies from fading and deteriorating. It will also stop hot or cool pockets from being created in a room, allowing the room to be cooled or heated evenly. This also allows the HVAC system to work less, reducing the energy bill. Window tinting is especially useful for the ground floor of a building because it offers privacy from passers-by. For rooms on higher floors, tinting will minimize glare without inhibiting the view.
